Default esc for 12 turn

Looking for some advice on an esc. Requirements: handle 20 turn motor ,up to 8 cells (nimh), with drag break. This is for my ramcharger scaler build.

I was under the impression that the ae-2 was only good for 6 cells. My sons ridgecrest burns through a 6 cell 5000 like nothing. mind you all I have is nimh batteries. will go lipo some day just not now.

6 cell 7.2v is the same as a 2s lipo since it runs at 7.2v also. escs are dumb they can't tell the difference between the 2 the draw back is you need to run either low voltage alarm or cuttoff when using lipo. The ae-2 runs 2s and 6 cell and if i remember right has the built in lipo cutoff turned on from the factory so its fine. It can also run 3s lipo but they recommend installing a bec for 3s.

Run a cc bec, and I've run mine on 4s. The AE-2 has been bullet proof for me.
