Element brushless and BEC question?

I'm running a element brushless system 3900kv everything was working fine. I hooked up a Castle BEC and I cut red wire hooked everything up correctly. I'm getting bad glitching when applying throttle and not a lot of power to steering. I put it on 6v. I can hook esc up to castle link now it won't read it for some reason. Any ideas on what's going on? Thanks

Re: Element brushless and BEC question?

When you take the red wire out for a BEC, you have to hook up a battery to get power so the link will read it...that's the first step. Once you get that figured out and finish tinkering the the software, see if the issue still exist and we can go from there

Ok it's plugged into Castle Link and got that part to work. Now what?

Start by uploading the program you want, maybe a glitch. Reset you ESC check your transmitter settings.

Is the black wire running between all the servos and the rx? I've seen multiple threads mentioning some systems getting finicky if the rx does not see the ground for the servo. Even though it's going through the bec it seems it may not be strong enough.

Re: Element brushless and BEC question?

Good point. Need to know what electrical components you're running in all. Pictures if you can. If not, tell us how everything is hooked up. I hook everything normal. Then I hook the power leads to the car side of the battery connector, plug the BEC into the receiver in channel 3-5 or battery slot then I remove the power wire from ESC going into receiver. Everything else connects as if there is no BEC.

There are other ways to do it, I find this to be the simplest.
