| Soldering Posts?
I've got a MMP and I want to crack it open and solder on some posts, does anyone know where I can get some. I'd like to get the same style as on the MMP 1-cell. I tried calling castle but they said they don't sell them. Thanks

You can try using some female 4mm bullet connectors and solder them onto the board directly.

X2 on that. I don't see why that would not work. ^^^^^

You better have a really large hot iron to do the work. Castle uses lead free silver free solder and it is a royal pain to melt. Combined with the wire size and location you are soldering, its a lot of heat that can't sit there long without damaging the controller. If you feel comfortable doing the work, get some 10g solid strand house wire and strip out some chunks. You can use those as posts, just keep them short so they don't bend. Dremel the top or bend the top into a shape you can plop a wire on. I wouldn't use female bullet connectors. Being hollow, they have pretty low conductivity without the male shoved inside. Better to use the Male side connector instead. |

I've got a Hakko 888, per your recommendation Will there be any issues with the wire used in buildings being rated at 30-40 amps. I know the rating has mostly to do with the insulation, but just want to double check with you. |

So you know, 10ga handles 30A continous, a bit more in spikes, 12ga handles 20A. | |

Your ratings are correct but that is at 600 volts rating. You will be more than fine with 12g. Be very careful not to overheat the board.
