Default problem adjusting shift servo

I got a bunch of parts off eBay. For my cousin's birthday I'm trying to build him a decent scx10 I got one with a two speed transmission. I'm using a cheap traxxes three channel radio I got for 30 bucks. no matter how I adjusted servo horn the servo keeps binding. This radio doesn't have an point adjustment. Need this done soon. His birthday is tomorrow. Nothing like waiting the last minute.

anyone have any ideas?

thanks again
