Default ESC Glitch

On my Wraith I have a reedy 17 turn motor and a Tekin FX-R speed controller with a Savox SA-1230SG servo and a 2 cell lipo. When running the Wraith at any speed it will suddenly loose power. Just for a second then power will come right back. It happens whether I'm going straight or turning so I don't think it's the servo. Any ideas??

Thanks

Do you have a external BEC? If so all servos over 200 oz. require that you get one BEC. Also you could need a voltage regulator for your receiver, this can work there only 6 dollars from spektrum. Also if you don't have a BEC Castle Creations makes 10 amp for only 21.00. This happened to me a long time ago, my receiver was fried so I went with a Futaba system, but start with the BEC or voltage regulator and go from there, hope this helped, - axial 4x4 crawler

Thanks I'll give that a try. my LHS owner insists I don't need a bec with the tekin. Just one more question, if it's my servo why does it do this when there are no steering inputs?

Your FX-R might need a firmware update? Also, check and see what your low voltage cutoff is set for and that your FX-R is configured for the correct lipo mode. Is your esc getting hot and flashing any LED's when it looses power? If so, maybe double check wiring/solder joints and that the brushes on your motor are in good shape.

+1, does the motor get hot?, the ESC?
How old is the motor, has it had a lot of runtime?

What capacity are your batteries as well as the "C" rating? Looking to see something like "2S, 2000mah, 25C".

What battery connector? If it's a Tamiya, that could be the issue.

Neither the motor or speed controller get hot
1800 mah 25c 2 cell lipo
ec-3 contectors
Motor doesn't have a lot of run time.
The esc is maybe 5 or 6 years old so there may be some issues there.
I recentloy moved the esc to a better position with more air flow it was getting warm in the former location.

Thanks for the help
