There is the Castle MMP with the Tekin Roc412 3100 motor combo that has smooth crawling and fast top end speed. It is a sensored brushless setup but comes at a higher prices than a brushed setup.

If you want really smooth a BRXL combined with a Crawlmaster Pro 16T or 13T is a great combo.

I have 5 BRXL's now. I run them with Novak or Tekin 35 or 45 turn motors that never seem to die. I'll try a Holmes motor when one of them does.

Depends on your rig, but here are my favorites.

Brushed -- BR-XL with a HH TorqueMaster Pro 27T or a HH CrawlMaster 13T.
Brushless Sensored -- Castle MMP with a TekinRoc412 3100.

Running an AE-2 with a team brood spectra...changing from the axial 27t to the spectra.....wow! Torque, brakes and drag brake are off the charts!

Glad I didn't spend too much money on unnecessary electronics!

factory AE-2, axial 55t, 20/87 gearing.
It will flip my Axial P.S. in a heartbeat if you lock a wheel, but still pushes it to about 7mph.

$10 X-Car esc. Lipo cut off and drag brake are the only options. Running 4 now with no issues at all. All but 1 are running various winds of Integy lathes of various winds. Older style ones, the newer ones don't seem quite as sturdy to me. Figured if they burned up, I wasn't out a ton of cash, so ordered 4 and gave them a workout on some various rigs. Surprisingly, they are holding up fine.

For crawling I use a BRXL or a FXR..
I have 5 BRXLs right now. Two non-waterproof, one waterproof, and two minis. They all work GREAT..

Pretty hard to beat.
