| brood or holmes
I can't decide what motor to go in my next project I will be starting the ordering process after xmas . I don't really have a budget in mind will eat rice for a couple weeks if necessary..lol... what are some of your opinions ? I would prefer some specs or actual facts about the motor you advise me to buy not just that one is simply better. I would prefer a nice smooth motor that is light weight I hope that helps you guys help me I plan on a light rig. Thanks for your time Timmyp |

It comes down to preference, and I prefer Holmes Hobbies. I've never run or seen and brood motors so I can't comment or speculate. I can say a HH motor won't let you down.

I run Holmes and they are awesome. I've heard good things about brood but I to haven't seen or used one.

I've got both and honestly, either is good. They are both butter-smooth and more powerful than I really need.

Both Holmes and Brood are the about the 2 best quality motors builders out there for this sport. I personally never heard of Holmes Hobbies until I came to this site but quickly learned its a household name around here as well as other crawler type forums. Brood has been around a long time in many forms of racing both on road and off road. Holmes is the latest and most talked about company making a huge name for its self. You cant go wrong with either company really. Find your budget and compare the motors..youll pick what you think is right for you. Just keep in mind more money doesn't always reflect something is better. |

My next motor will be a Holmes Hobbies 500 puller motor. From what I've read and heard, it is a brushed motor that performs similar to a brushless while being a brushed motor still.
