Default AE-2 3S Lipo.

Hey,
I read here that you can run 3S lipo on a AE-2, but that you have to program it and set it up for 3S.
axial ae2 esc 3s does it really work? longterm ? .
So now is my question, how can I program that, and will it work with a 19T motor?

You just program for lipo, no settings for 3S that I know of. I only run mine on 2S and they don't recommend any higher than that. Just my opinion.

Okay, and what esc are recommended for running 3s brushed? Not in a too high price range.

You can use a 3s lipo but you need to use an External BEC to do so safely.
The esc is fully programmable with things such as the drag brake and throttle inputs..The ESC should already be set for lipo voltage cut off use and nothing more is needed to use a 3s battery except maybe some better parts if you haven't already upgraded or very precautionary driving skills.

Okay, I have a BEC already, only need to install it. So now I only need to sell my NiMh batteries and buy the Lipos.

The AE-2 runs just fine on 3s. I run mine with a 21t Traxxas Titan motor as well as an external BEC. The BEC drives the high voltage servo and the internal BEC from the ESC runs the receiver. It runs great and I'm very happy with it.
