Default bec problem

When I have the bec (cc) hooked up, my servo glitches (only when cutting the wheel fast) and the lights (bec and receiver) go out for that split second. It's like it loses power under extreme load. If I unhook the bec and just use the esc I have no problems at all.

Setup is Hh br-xl esc, castle bec, and hitec 7950 all on 2s but switching over to 3s.

Is the external BEC direct to the servo (sorta sounds like it) or through the RX?
If through the RX, did you remove the red ESC to RX wire and tape it up?
What voltage is the external BEC set to?

Through the receiver. The red wire is renoved fronm esc. I have a y harness also to run straight to the servo. However I tried it with and without the y harness. I don't have a castle link so Im unsure of the bec setting. Thing is it worked before with no problems. Its used and a little older so maybe its just time for a new one.

I would suggest you get a castle link,so you can adjust bec voltage and settings on the brxl.

Yes, you can use the internal ESC BEC, but check the external BEC output 1st. You can check through the side of the output connector, or paper clips/straight pin through the end of the BEC output connector to see the voltage.
Yes, the external BEC may have died.

Stock, the CC 10A BEC's come set for ~5VDC. If you order through Holmes Hobbies (maybe others as well) you can have them set the voltage before shipping.

This.... HS-7950TH Servo shows specs up to 7.4VDC.
You can give up a little performance but add a little life by running 7.0VDC.
I would suggest running the external BEC direct to the servo and let the ESC internal BEC feed the rest.

The BR-XL's voltage supply will not be used
if an external bec is used.

Both cannot be used to supply power to the RX
at the same time. (would cause issue)

The external bec will supply the voltage to the RX.

If using an external bec...
the red + wire coming from the BR-XL should be
removed from the plug going into the RX.

^ tape or heat shrink that loose wire end.

If you get a CCBEC and link...
adjust the bec's voltage to 7.4v

^ should resolve your issues

edit:

one last thing...

Be sure that your RX can handle the voltage you wish to push thru that.

Problem found. The negative tab on the output side was loose. I thought it was just the wire, but upon further investigation the tab was loose on the board. I removed the shrink wrap and wiggled the wire ever so slightly and the whole wire and tab came off the board. So it was it's time.
