Default Water messing up brushed motor?

Ok, I read on here that brushed motors are inherently waterproof. So I'm having an issue...

Components:
Tekin 35t HD
3s 2200 mah
HH BRXL esc

I take my rig out to plow snow, and after that I take the blade off and play on my crawl course. The snow in the skidpan melts, and after a while, if you let go of the throttle, the motor won't run unless you give the rig a little bump. I've taken the rig straight back in from plowing and let the thing drop dry...no issues. I've taken it out in the cold garage without getting in the snow first, no issues.

Anyone have any ideas?

Water does not conduct electricity. Its the minerals and impurities in the water that conducts electricity. I put the end of a sock around my motor to keep all the grit and mud out. give it a try

R U sure it's not just the brushes/springs hanging up ?

Meaning:

snow could pack in and around the springs/brushes
and those ice crystals or other contaminants could be
causing hang up.

Contaminants can wedge themselves between the the brush(s) outer surface
and the shroud's inner surface.
If this occurs...
they could hang up until the contaminants are removed.

...stated previously...
I'd cover the motor(s-?) with a foam/filter sock as well.
see if the issue goes away !?

-----------------

fresh, clean water does no harm to brushed mtrs.
and for the record...

old skool racers used to break in their e motor brush(s) quicker
by running their motors submerged in fresh, clean water.

I broke a motor in once, using a 16 oz cup,
with a low flow, constant supply of tap water.

kept the water/motor cooler
and flushed the break-in contaminants away

just lube the bushings/bearings... go race

My first thought goes to the motor temperature!
Running in snow isn't easy going for the motor. It WILL run much warmer than it does on bare ground, which in turn reduces the torque due to increased resistance in the windings.

Do check the motor temp more often when running in snow!

Agreed.

I doubt the snow/water has anything to do with it. Sounds to me like the strain of pushing snow has caused you to burn a short into one of your motor's windings. Now you hafta push it to find a winding that's not shorted out.

If you're going to be pushing snow (with a blade or your undercarriage), gear it down........ a lot.

That is like saying cancer is not what kills you, but the lack of a beating heart after the cancer eats you alive.

Unless your driving your crawler in deionized water, it does and will conduct electricity.

Try putting a sock over the motor. I don't mean an actual sock. I mean like pantyhose. It stops the sediment from getting inside.
