| fxr, 27 turn on 3s
I searched, but didn't really find a definitve answer. Who all's running this setup on an scx10, and any issues? I am thinking it should be ok, rig isn't very heavy, I'm using a cc bec of course, and I will monitor the motor temps and make sure it isn't overgeared. Anybody promise me it won't smoke? |

I ran a 27t in a Wraith on 3s with a VXL esc and it burned up on the 3rd run.

Depending on the motor, it may be fixed at high advance timing (or, maybe retarded timing if your rig needs a reversed motor). Advanced will give a lot of power...... for a bit. If timing is adjustable, set to slightly advanced to gain motor life. |

| Re: fxr, 27 turn on 3s Yeah but you wraith cats don't know when to lay off that trigger! I kid. Your scx will be fine with that combo. Tried & true dude. Any motor can go belly up. There are better motors, of course, but you can smoke those too if you beat on them hard enough. Gues it comes down to you as a driver, doesn't it?

| Re: fxr, 27 turn on 3s It will be a trailmaster pro. I think the timing is zero, but adjustable. If I can figure out which way is advanced I will advance it slightly |

If you try to advance/retart the timing then you should keep good records on the temps to see where things get out of wack. This will inform you on what not to do twice. I mention this because of experiance. |

What's your gearing like tool man? I'm running the exact same set-up except I have a HH torquemaster pro. I run 32p, 56 spur, 10t pinion |

It should be fine. I run my fxr with a stock Axial 27t on 3s and the motor barely gets warm with stock gearing. I emailed Tekin asking the same question, and they said that the 35t limit for 3s is only for the internal bec. They told me to run with a CC bec (which I already was with 2s) and it would be fine.

To advance timing, loosen the motor endbell and rotate it AGAINST/OPPOSITE the armature spin. | |
