Default Scx10 nube

Hey new to the forum and rc I recently got an scx10 jeep rubicon rtr working on getting theis thing up to snuff but my steering servo makes a noise and twitches a little bit and the truck squeaks bad I fixed it somewhat with wd 40 but can anyone give me some good tips and stuff about my new rig? I'm 20 years old and looking forward to better my truck in crawling!

Servos (especially digital servos) tend to "hunt" for center when they are loaded (steering wheels on the ground for example). They make buzzing sorta sounds normally. Lifting that end of the rig while powered on usually quiets it down.

My guess is being that it is a RTR your using the stock servo? On the stock servo there is a plastic bushing instead of a bearing on the output shaft. I run Savox 1230 servos on my SCX10 and crawler. (500 oz of torque) It's definite overkill on the SCX10 so far. If it is indeed your servo going out there are much more affordable servos that would suit your needs. I would also stay away from WD40, at least on plastic.

If you are good at bashing, you can open up the stock servo and replace the bushing with a 6x10x3 or 6x10x2.5 bearing.

I ditto the WD-40. It's a petroleum based product and that it bad on any plastic.

what servo ?
what noise ? describe

If the oem RTR AS2...
^ (comment prior)
prolly the bushings (X2) failing on the output gear shaft
gear mesh would become fubar, noise would become excessively worse...
and then the gears will strip or lock up. darn it

replacing the bushings with bearings need occur soon I'll guess.
