Can I calibrate my CC Sidewinder with the external BEC installed or should I unplug the BEC from the rx and reconnect the red wire on the ESC plug at the rx?

Red wire should be installed, I've always had to do it this way.

Should have no issues calibrating the ESC just the way it is, no need to swap wires around. Programming/flashing would require a pack to be installed. |

What about the battery? Does it need to be fully charged? I'm running a 3s lipo at 50% charge (~11.55 volts), which is well above the ESC's cutoff.

As long as its above cutoff, it shouldn't be an issue.

I had to set my throttle trim to 0, push my EPA out to 105% for forward and reverse, and reverse the throttle on my transmitter in order to get the calibration sequence to run. However, the motor (brushed Integy 55T) turns very slowly at full throttle and doesn't turn at all when reverse throttle is applied. Edit: Forgot to add that the the motor only spins for a second or two under full throttle and then stops turning. Edit: Just confirmed. At full throttle, the voltage to the motor jumps to 2.3-ish volts for about a second and a half and then drops to 0 volts. Applying reverse throttle does nothing (voltage remains at 0). I have a GT3B with ABS off, channel 2 trim set to N00, D/R set to 100% forward and reverse, EPA set to 100% forward and reverse, channel 2 REV set to REV (had to to get the calibration sequence to run.) Edit: The problem was the Sidewinder's default brushless setting. I went through the manual programming sequence and set the motor type to brushed and the motor runs strong now. It may be set for a brushed motor. If it is, you will need to reprogram it and set it up for brushless use. You can do this with your transmitter or via Castle Link. If you don't know how, let me know and I will try to explain.

It was plugged in right. I just tried a ae2 and that did the same thing. It works on my mamba monster tho. Maybe it needs to be updated?
