Default HITEC Servo ???? help!

I just got a hitec 7954SH and it came with a blue aluminum servo horn. The bag states they work with servos with a "+" stamped on the servo output shaft. The 7954 doesn't have that +. I called hitec and the guy said to ignore that as the were for older hitecs and to simply put the horn on and screw it down tight to set it. Is that right?? Just wanted to see if anyone can give some advice. Thx

As long it has a 24t spline count it will work with your hitech servo. From what I have read the blue ones that come with the servo stink, but better than plastic

Ok the servo came with the horn so assume its 24 just really snug. Can't get it to set by hand and want to check before I screw it down. I'd hate toruin the servo

You'll never ruin a servo putting a horn on dude. Either it'll fit, or it'll be to loose. And your servo won't care either way. Now horns, are a different story.

The blue one that came with my 7954 has been through 3 G6s and many hours on the trail. I do have CMS so it is up out of the way, but they work just fine.

Like said before, the blues work just fine. Yes, they are tight when new, don't worry. As for durability, the only issue you will have is that if it takes a hit while driving, it'll probably bend in towards the axle. The worst I have done to one was twist it up with a hs-7980 TH running 8.4v...it doesn't like that much torque...
