Axial + 3s Lipo = BEC ?'s

so im wanting to run 2 small saddle pack 3s lipos on my ae-2 and i wanna know how and what to do with the bec and why do i need it? isnt the ae-2 a rebadged sidewinder? does it not have an internal bec like the sidewinder? and how do i adjust it i dont have a castle link! thanks in advance guys

If your servo is over 200oz then you need a bec. The castle bec is a pos and you should imo always use one with their products! Using the ae-2 you will need the bec as it wasn't designed to run on 3s but will once you install the bec. Some have had failures with this too so be prepared that it might not like the 3s. Buy the bec from your local hobby shop and have them set it for you. Most shops have the castle link to help customers, you most likely just have to ask!

**You can run higher voltage batteries such as a 7 cell NiCad/NiMH or 3 cell lipo with the installation of a “Castle BEC”

id do it and if it fails call them and tell them there bec ae2 idea fried your esc and u should get a new one for free since they gave wrong info out

my servo is a 222oz and i hate running dual 5000mah lipos to keep the punch of the 65c rating fresh, id rather run a pair of smaller 2200mah lipos for less weight and more punch i would run it at about 75% throttle maybe even less, does it come preprogrammed?
