Default Queston on brushless capacitors

I've been looking around here for a few day and can't seem to find my answer. I have a losi xcelorin sensored brushless system and when its all hooked up and you give it throttle the motor starts off nice and slow then it may jump around or rev up , then if you give it more throttle the rpm goes up smooth a little then rev's higher or lower without moving the trigger.I replaced the sensor wire with a new one already. Could a bad capacitor do this , the one thats on here looks fairly big. I'm new to brushless and don't know where to go from here. I also change the motor and the second one does the same thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Do you have another esc to try? If so, try it and see if it does the same thing.

No ,But i don't think both motors are bad. I just tried a different radio and receive but its still acts the same.

It sounds to me like the speed controller has some current limiting going on..
Castle calls it punch control..

Current limiting cuts back the start up power to the motor, so you don't destroy lower C-rating batteries and make a bunch of heat in the motor.
Short course guys use it a little like traction control..

Is the servo/esc wires bunched up with the motor and or battery wires?

No , I have everything separated , I recalibrated the esc and still the same thats why i was wondering how a bad capacitor would act. Its acts like i gets power spikes as it runs.

Are you sure your sensor wire is good and plugged in correctly my ballistic 550 and mmp combo did the same thing turned out my sensor wire broke in the middle when I replaced it and checked to make sure it's good it worked great

Well i bought a new one and the second new motor i got had one come with it. The way the plugs made it looks like it only go's in one way. Is there a way to test or eliminate the capacitor to check a see if thats it?

Ya i already reset it to factory. I'll have to wait till i can get another esc. But like i said i dont think both motors and bad , The Ballistic crawler 18.5 is new with a new sensor wire.

Releasing the gods of white smoke..

Good luck getting the smoke back in...

I am certain what you are seeing isn't from the capacitor..
It sounds like punch control or current limiting... Limits start up amperage to prevent from puffing battery packs...

Well no magic smoke but it made the motor turn very slowly. I hooked it back up and tried for the last time to reset the esc and it still the same. I got a novak esc on the way from a friend of mine. Thanks for all your help.

Does the esc support non sensored mode? If so, Try it without the sensor wire. This will help you isolate if it is a sensor board issue.
