those are both really high kv's for our applications... and if not sensored, they are gonna suck doing anything but high speed runs.
Hera is running a Pro4 4000kv (sensored) with a 2 speed trans geared as low as I can get it... and that's worked pretty well.
Mellon's, my "scx10" is running the Pro4 3300kv with great results.

I didn't think so... just letting you know, those motors are not going to be much fun imho.
I run a 7700kv in my foff and it 's really only good at going balls out.
Anything else is just frustrating.

Honestly, imo, non sensor brushless systems do not work well for rock racing or crawling... at all.
I first ran the VXL with a Summit 2 speed when I built my first scaler... it was ok at best.
If you really want to run brushless and enjoy it, you have to go sensored.

Get a sensored ESC like an MMP, then take some time and keep your eyes peeled here or on ebay for either a Tekin ROC 412 3100KV or a Tekin Pro4 3300kv, they can be had for about $100 if you take your time and look around.

Thats a tough call. Like stated earlier, if you're going brushless and you want slow speeds, you almost have to go with a sensored motor and esc. BUT, I have used brushless motors without a sensor and they work alright since I'm not rock crawling with them.

The TIMBUK2 setup and the MMP/pro4 are a common setup but those are costly.

With the castle ESC you have, you may almost be better off running a really nice brushed motor. I am a fan of Team Brood myself but I'm guessing you want to stick with brushless. In that case, maybe a 2200-3500 kv motor at best. Anything higher would be too much power and you'll be replacing drive line components.

You can always buy a sensored motor and use it with your sv3 until you are discouraged enough to go buy a MMP.

yes, in non sensor mode... basically it behaves like any other brushless motor.

3300kv and below should be "good".

The Sv3 isn't sensored so there isn't anything to adjust besides brushless or brushed. Just hook up the sensored motor without a sensor wire and run it in brushless mode on the esc.

4600KV, I don't think you SV3 can load 7700kv.
