Default motor voltage limits?

I want to know if there's a limit to the "volt up gear down" axiom? Specifically, I have a deadbolt that I got for xmas(would have been much better to get a kit as I have replaced all but the radio already). I got a HH BRXL 35t tqm sport combo and a HH 27t sealed can for mud play. Been running it on 2s but I want more. The brxl is rated for 6s. Will these motors be ok at that voltage? I was thinking of making an adapter to run 2 batteries in series. So 2 2s's would give me 4s or 2 3s's would be 6s. Is this all wrong? I don't want to ruin it with trial and error. Also thinking of a 13t pinion. Is that going to be low enough?

I'm running a 35T on 4s. So far so good.

If you use more than 4S you will get a lot of brush wear and will have really short run times between brush changes.

Check out the HH site's Holms tech under gearing.
540 Brushed Motor Care, Installation, and Troubleshoot | The Search for Power

Here is the quick summary version:
Use 11.1v to 14.4v lipo whenever possible.

With the speeds that you want, you would probably be better off going with a brushless system.

I run my Novak 45t and 35t on 4s regularly and they hold up fine. The HH motors are supposed to be better motors so I would say you are good to go.

Thanks. I didn't see that when I looked at hh tech. I'm just on my phone so...
What about doing a series harness for 2s to 4s? Any problem with having the extra connector in the mix? Or I could just get a 4s

No, just make or buy a pre-made harness.
