I have an awesome mail lady.. she delivers me HH goodness to my door! I'm not much for blue but this is one sexy servo! So I went straight to work on my xj. I had just went from 333oz to a 7950 and could tell a Huge difference, specially with cms. Now to pull it all out and replace it for a great comparison to performance value. All mounted up an ready to go.. Off to the rocks for some abuse.. uh, I mean testing.. ;) I have been running this setup for the better part of 2 seasons and I couldn't be happier! First thought was with the quickness, of how quick it steers. Enough that it is noticeable! I moved onto torque, torture, testing next.. I have some spots that are prone to binding up a rig, so I went straight for em. I was a little worried in a spot or 3, were I know it would struggle, or so I thought. The servo didn't disappoint! Even with a new HH BL motor, (which is NASTY!) driving it harder an harder into the rocks(which will be another review soon), the servo kept pace to the 7950 without a glitch. I did some wiggle steering tests while I was in a situation or two.. not only does it have the speed to get the wheels moving but the torque to keep them moving. I Didn't have to resort to long slow side to side action as the servo bogged down. Quick, peppy, strong strokes did the trick and stayed strong, no bogging down. At half the cost an the initial test results Great, I have no problem buying two! Which I did.. Its goin in my 8yr sons wraith, along with a HH BL motor as well.. most all of us can imagine how it will get used to its fullest potential then.. lol And then a review will follow that as well. |

I'm using a CCBEC, on a Wraith build, I'm trying to decide between 6.0v and 7.4v. I don't necessary think I need 418oz of torque but bragging rights are nice. So help me decide which voltage to use.

| Re: HH Servo If you set the voltage at 6 volts the servo may last .000459 seconds longer but doing so puts you one step closer to having your man card revoked.

So when a servo is listed as Titanium gears, should that mean that all of the gears are Titanium or "some" of them are? I've never owned a Titanium geared servo so I honestly don't know.

I know, in most Hitec servo's, they are all ti except one. I assume a fail safe type of deal? But when you can pick 3 of them up for 10$, its a cheap "fail safe".. I personally haven't ever had any of them fail, so must be the lowest stressed gear in em. I haven't pulled a HH servo apart to look.. YET.. ill do that right Now! Report back soon.. |

Is it just me or do they look the same inside and out? I am just going by the pic and not one in hand but they look the same from here.

| Re: HH Servo Identical minus the color and brand. The HH ran pretty good today. I'm running 2.2 TSL's with 4oz in each front tire and it will push the truck away from the wall. That being said if I had known it was rebadged I would have bought 3 Turnigy's instead of the HH. I thought about sending it back but the only reason I kept it is I'm hoping if I have any issues I will be taken care of.

I certainly appreciate you keeping it and supporting us It will go back into parts designed for crawlers and keeping employees in the USA. The plastic or alloy first gear is used as an inexpensive failsafe. A full metal (or ti) driveline isn't needed at this power and reduction level. On a larger power model we would extend the Ti another gearset into the reduction and change the final to brass. The first gear is good to make weakest, as it is also easy to replace and inexpensive to make. If it isn't made the failsafe, failures start to move around and the spare parts bin is more parts and money. Last edited by JohnRobHolmes; 03-04-2014 at 11:38 PM. |

I really was sold on this servo till I got one. Thanks a lot. Got one really excited to put in my XR10 ripped out my JR servo only to be let down. turn radius not as good as my JR and it failed in 5 min. flat.....I guess I got the first defected unit but not really happy sent it in and payed 87.00 for servo 20 dollars shipping another couple bucks and I could have had a 7950 still kicking my self in the ass.......

The extra money gets you better service, and I am sure Holmes Hobby will take care of it. I am also sure the Turnigy would be better off going into the trash vs. trying to get support. | |

Hit us up through the site or phone, I'll fix it or refund. The last servo I killed was a $250 jobber, on the second run! Happens to every price and quality of electronics. This servo is Taiwanese, relatively new factory that came from the industrial sector. |
