Default Castle CC BEC0400 and lights

I just got a Castle CC BEC 400 I was thinking abought lights like the on the wraith RTR.

I have the diagram for the BEC. It drawls power from the red and black battery wires going to the ESC. It has a black, red, and orange pig tail that goes to the battery side of the RX. You then remove the red wire from the pig tail from the ESC before it attaches to the RX.

Now how do I steup the lights? The instructions show the lights pkuging into the battery side of the RX. The same place the CC BEC plugs into. Will I need a y splitter to plug both the lights and BEC?

Thanks for the help!

Yes unless you have an open channel you can just put it in there. Otherwise a y cable is easiest.

Plug the bec into the battery plug and the lights in channel 3 in the receiver.

Another option is to get a lighting controller like the ones from HeyOk which uses a piggy back setup to get the ESC signal so it doesn't take up a channel on the receiver. That way you get working brake lights.

OK a new question has come up-. The instructions say to remove the red wire from the ESC pigtail, and plug the BEC into the BEC port of the radio.

A friend has suggested that I remove the red and white wires from the Steering servo, and plug them into the BEC Pigtail while the signal (orange or White) wire from the Servo pigtail goes to the servo slot on the RX. This way the lights and radio operate off of the BEC on the ESC but the servo gets the 6 volts (or more)
