Default Help!! Motor quits working while steering

I have a wraith and am running stock radio and receiver. I am using a Holmes Brxl with a trailmaster and a savox digital steering servo. Running 3s but it doesn't make a difference on the problem. I am having a problem with the motor stopping when I'm turning. I have tried recallibrating and tried a different servo. While holding throttle constant when I steer the light on the brxl changes from green to red and back green again once motor runs again

I'm assuming that you're not using a separate bec?

That Savox servo is more than likely over-amping the internal bec. Get yourself an external bec and that will cure your problem. Read this...Yes, you need an external BEC!

The problem happens with any servo I have tried and will happen when no load is being applied like when I have truck on a stand so there is no resistance. Thanks for the info on the bec I will def check it out. I am changing out to a velineon motor and esc to see if that makes a difference now. I know that setup is horrible for a wraith but I have a ton of fresh snow and want to go play at all cost

Oh wow that's a new one to me! Maybe the esc is faulty? I have the brxl as well but haven't had one problem yet.

savox servos are POWER hogs and it may be stressing out the BR-XL

But not when there's no load on the servo:

It was the ESC that caused the problems.

I recently changed the battery connector on the esc I wonder if maybe I have a bad solder joint

Get an external bec & go from there. Your only asking for drama without one.

^this. what you're experiencing is called a "brown-out" when the draw from your servo is too much for the ESC to handle, thus it hesitates. eventually you'll need a BEC anyways depending on what battery setup you have, so might as well upgrade now (vs just running servo off battery - depends on what servo you have)

Thanks for all the input I guess I'm getting a bec. For now I'll run a different system until I get one wired in

I had the same issue with a brxl and savox servo. Got a bec and still the same issue, something just wasn't right. Got rid of the savox servo and got rid of the problem..
