Are you running 2 cell, 3 cell, what terrain?

I run a 9t/56t 32p setup on 3 cell, but I like to have low speed control, the 3 cell allows me to spin the tires when I need to. I have 2 trucks that run this setup and really like the control I get from it.

HH doesn't recommend gearing lower then 5:1... No matter which pitch you use, divide the spur by the pinion.. if its too slow or not enough juice, volt up an gear down..

I run 87/15 in my wraith and 87/16 in the scx10and both do very well on keeping low temps. I would recommend adjusting your drag brake as the holmes motor will have a lot more than a stock motor.
