Default Hitec 5645 question

I have a hitec-5645 servo on my MRC and was wondering if I really need the BEC on it. It' has a CC sidewinder micro, the 5645, a CC BEC, and a airtronics MX-3X. I'm going to be doing a comparison between the Novak 380 motor and the Team Brood motor and have only 1 BEC. I don't want to keep soldering and unsoldering the BEC.

The wires on the bec go to the battery not the motor leeds so you'll be fine.

I know that. I was just wondering if I NEED a bec for the servo. The servo only has 150-170 oz. of torque. If I don't I'll just swap the systems out and leave the bec on the sidewinder.
