OK, firstly... I've tried browsing the search function and looked over about 8 pages of posts but found nothing I could figure was of help. Being a total novice to this RC stuff, basically I have no idea what I'm looking for in brands/types etc. I want to upgrade the servo in my honcho to something stronger, but keeping on a budget. Living here in Australia, I was going to replace the nylon bush with a bearing which would've been fine but seems not even the bearing specific company's have any stock for that particular bearing..... which brings me to either get one from fast eddies shipped... or just upgrade for a little more $$. Im currently running the stock axial honcho electronic gear with a 3600maH 7.2v NimH battery I'm know I'll prob pay a bit more being here in Oz, but what type/brand should I be looking for on a budget of <$80 |

I prefer Hitech servos, if you got to servo city they list all the specs of there servos and not just the Hitech ones.

because... there are better things to waste your money on As good as many of the more costly high torque/end servos... but can be had for a third of the cost of the higher end servos. Solar D772 higher torque/slower speed Solar D771 faster speed/lower torque... ^ links display the hobbypartz specifications and more. I prefer the D772 in my crawler. mine have held up well and work great. I first ran them @ 6.0v... but 7.4v is way better IMO ^ I recommend both be run minimally @ 7.4 volts to take advantage of their full performance potential. * a voltage adjustable BEC helps. many ESC's do not supply enough voltage, nor offer voltage adjustment capability. Considering your allowed budget... you could buy 3 or 4 ! Last edited by TacoCrawler; 02-04-2014 at 07:21 PM. |
