| Futaba 3PL
I am almost done with my Dingo build. I currently have: Castle BEC Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster Sport 35t motor(may upgrade to pro later) Holmes Hobbies BRXL ESC Hi-Tec HS-7955TG Now it's time for a radio. I am looking for a good budget radio with rx(between $100 and $150) and happened upon the futaba 3pl. I know the "best" anything is subjective. I am wanting to know if you had experience with this radio and was it good or bad? |

Great little radio. I use one for my scaler. It has worked very well for me. For the price I don't think there is a better radio. I think the only problem is that the receivers are a little expensive. Typical Futaba, but that's what I trust, never let me down. Edit: I just looked up the price. $35 is not really that bad. I used it for my go fast one race day, worked great. Last edited by dentonmac; 02-10-2014 at 08:10 PM. Reason: Looked up price |

I have one in a sct that is a great lil radio, easy to adjust & setup. For me it has a good feel & absolutely well worth the few bucks shelled out for it!

I have two and would buy another if I needed another radio system. I've used Futaba since 1970, that's all I'll buy.

I have the Futaba 4PLS got a pretty good deal out of Hong Kong!! $219 + shipping. I have a Futaba 3PM-X as well and it uses FASST which are very expensive receivers!! 4PLS is just a fancier 4PL |

The 3PL is a nice radio which is easy to use. The problem comes when using the third channel for controlling a winch or a dig both of which needs 3 position control. The 3PL has a 2 position switch which isn't good for winch or dig control. I would look at the 4PL which does have 3 position switches or the hacked GT3C from overkill rc. |

I like DX3C better than 3PL, I have both and I found DX3C have better adjustments like sub-trim and 3 pos 3rd channel, it will help a lot if you want to add a winch later on. For Info I am using 4PL at the moment. |
