Default Fly Sky GR3E RX failure

I have the FS GR3E RX combined with the GT3-C TX

Out of the blue...
the FS RX began acting up and lost range/control at less then 100 ft.

No it's not the TX's power switch.
I have the newer TX that has the improved on/off switch circuitry.

I searched and found a video claiming that it's possible
that the RX's antennae could have a break in that, near it's end.
And the antennae could be trimmed near the end, removing the outer jacket
thus re-exposing the core wire... and it should work again.

But that is not the case with mine...
addressing the antenna wire fix did not correct my range problem
nor the control failure at distance.

To confirm the FS GR3E RX was to blame...
I swapped out the FS GR3E RX with my older Axial AR-3 RX
and that RX works perfectly and the range is fine.
So I know there is something wrong with my FS GR3E RX.

Do these FS GR3E RX's fail easily and often ?
What should I look for as far as repairing the GR3E ?
Might the antennae connection at the circuit board have loosened ?

They're cheap enough to purchase another...
so I'll probably just buy another.
But it will suck if it fails prematurely again.
I have read that many folks seem to have premature failure
concerning these particular FS GR3E RX's.

Only thing I had done, as far as changes..
was bumping my CCBEC from 6v to 7.4V.

Can the FS GR3E RX handle 7.4v run thru it ?

I did spray my GR3E circuit board with "Never Wet"
worked fine after doing so...
and has operated fine for well over 6 months after being done.

It has not been in water or had any moisture that may
have infiltrated the RX... (not once in that 6 months)
so I don't believe the "Never Wet" water proofing was to blame.

Guess I'll just purchase another...
and hope it doesn't failure prematurely as well.

I'll leave the Axial AR3 RX in the for now...
and see if that one holds up any longer.
It has not been water proofed as of yet...
But I'll probably want to...
But first... I want to purchase another spare for back up
just in case the AR3 fails too.

Anyone have some insight...
or know of something I should look for that might be of fault ?

thanks in advance
