Default Twitchy servo.....YES I HAVE A BEC.

So I just installed a Hitec 7980th in my wraith along with a CC BEC which has not been flashed to run 7.4 volts yet. I have eliminated the red wire on the plug where the BEC plugs into. The ESC. The servo is super twitchy and I cant figure out why. Any input is appreciated!!

Twitchy how? Is the servo twitching while sitting still or does it happen when you turn the wheels? The cc bec is set to 5.1v from the factory so your really not getting any benefit from the bec.

New servo? Try wiggling the wire at various points to see if it has an effect. I had a wire break and create the same issue.

Do you mean that you removed the red wire from the ESC plug that plugs into the receiver? I'm slightly confused because the BEC doesn't plug into the ESC.

Was the 7980 used or new? They are programmable. I cannot remember the setting, but there is one you change that opens the resolution and makes it very sensitive to radio inputs. So a little movement from the radio makes a lot of movement on the servo. It makes the servo seem really jumpy, and that is with a high end radio. Add in a cheap radio and it could act weird.

I also have had things act nuts with the esc interfering with the BEC. I had to change the firmware on the esc ( castle sidewinder, and MMP)

Your wording is a little vague. You removed the red wire FROM the esc? Then just plugged the BEC into the reciever? If you removed the red wire from the BEC, your not getting any power from it.
