Castle link on esc without red wire

Is it possible to program your esc with the red wire removed for a bec?

You'd have to plug a battery in iirc. Also if a bec is soldered to the batt connector, the usb port doesn't have enough voltage to power it. A pack would have to be connected as well.

Yea, All you have to do is plug a battery in to give the ESC power and it will all link up. I do it all the time.
