| Capacitor on ESC
Is it necessary to solder on a capacitor on the battery posts on the ESC ? i have a holmes esc and moter. I just have been watching vids on you tube on wiring and lots of them soldered on a capacitor

I don't believe so. Some of the Tekin esc's have them. But as far as I know you don't have to have them.

Which Holmes ESC do you have? The BRXL has them already installed. Never a good idea to use an ESC without it's capacitor.:thumbup:

While on this subject... Can you get away with say a 2" lead (extension ) from the cap to the Esc?

It's best to keep the cap as close to the ESC as possible. I know the Novak units have a length of wire on them and they seem to do what they are intended, but if it's possible, keep it close.

If the current or voltage can't met your needs, you can soldering one...But it will be a tough work.
