MMP and ROC 412 3100kv Temps I have a MMP and a ROC 412 3100kv in my scx10. I was crawling on my course at home, and I heard the esc fan turn on. So I checked the temps and the esc was 130 and the motor was 90 degrees. It took about 10 minutes of crawling for the temps to get at that point. So every time the fan would turn on I would just stop until the fan turned off. Are these normal temps or do I need to change something? |
MMP and ROC 412 3100kv Temps How warm was it outside? The temps aren't overly high, but you could gear down to see if that helps. 90 for the motor isn't any big issue, and 130 for the esc probably isn't that bad either , but drop a tooth or two and you should be good. |
Re: MMP and ROC 412 3100kv Temps 60 degrees out... Geared at 88 tooth spur and a 13 tooth pinion, on 2.2's and a 8 1/2 pound truck.... |
Re: MMP and ROC 412 3100kv Temps if the esc is hotter than the motor you need a higher tooth pinion.( i read this recently). I run a 13/52(same as 20/80) on my wraith and it never gets hot and i'm running it hard with the rc4wd 2 speed in high gear which is a high ratio then the stock trans. too fast but my esc fan doesn't turn on in high gear as much as it does in low gear. food for thought. |
