Default Resistance in 4 pole motors

I installed a hobbywing sensored 3400 kv motor and traxxas rebrand mmp in my scx10 figuring from what I read on here it should be quite smooth in the low end, it seems to almost chug at very low speed(not cogging, the sensors are working)

It seems to have resistance when rolling it by hand is this normal? Gear 11/60 meshing seems fine

Taking the motor out the truck rolls fine with little resistance,

Also if anyone has any tips I find it hard to keep a smooth steady low throttle..been playing with the setting to no avail, maybe I'm expecting too much? Brushed 35t is a fair amount smoother low end

Sounds to me like some issue with the sensor cable or the wires are mixed up from motor to esc? Make sure you have no timing, and try smart mode that will automatically switch , but I would expect a relatively smooth start for you as well.

I've done everything you have posted thus far, I'm wondering if I'm just expecting brushed start up out of it, on flat I can smooth start but putting it into any bind it's hard to smoothly start out of it...the little extra throttle needed to finish the crawl over causes it to pop instead, I will keep playing with the esc settings and post my findings

Seems fairly normal to me, but I have a cheap 2-pole motor so don't take my word for it.
My solution has been to use a smaller pinion, reducing the torque required at crawl speed (and also, unwanted, reducing the top speed).

You have gone from a 35T (±1600kv) motor to a 3400Kv sensored. Since you have nearly twice the speed, the start-up speed of the 3400kv will be harder to maintain it's smoothness.

I've gone from a 35T (1500kv) to a 21.5T (1800kv) sensored setup, and I have incredible low end resolution!

I've put the t35 back in, decided the brushless setup is just not what I'm looking for in an scx10 I'm thinking an ifs ultra 4 type would be perfect for the brushless setup! Now I'm just missing the extra money to do this lol

I use the same 3656sd in my wraith. I starts up plenty smooth considering it tops out at over 15mph. I cant imagine using it in a typical scx10 though. How much expo are you using? I think I am at something high like 75%.

I'm not sure about the expo on the axial transmitter, I'm thinking my scx is just too light for that much power! This summer il find something to put it in : )

I would say something not right. A buddy we run with has run Pro4 3300kv, T8 esc on 4s and smooth as can be in his SCX10.

Im running a 3500kv 4 pole 550 can with a mmp in my scx10. Smooth as silk when I need it to be. Like a elephant In a China shop when I get trigger happy.
