I am running a RX8 (gen2) on my Wraith with a 7980th, and I did. I let the esc power the rx and lights @ 6v then hooked the cc 10A BEC direct to the servo. Tekin says that they have greatly improved the internal BEC, but I just like to play on the safe side, never gets hot and i run 4s, with a ROC 412 3100kV. |

I run mine with 2 servos (1 for steering and the other for dig) hitec 7954, a standard plastic gear servo, a tekin 17.5 gen 1 on zero timing, a gear head light bar and it works perfect. I'll be putting a stronger servo in for the dig soon and I'm gonna see how it goes. And I have the internal bec in my rx8 set at 6v.

The Gen2 Rx8 has a 7 amp BEC on both 6v and 8v settings. However if you're running two crazy torque servos and other "accessories" it may be a good idea to split them up on a stand alone BEC, etc.

| Re: Rx8gen2 need a cc bec ???? My servo is 277oz at 7.4 and also running VP 5inch light bar but light bar will operate by remote ( and can be dimmed and turned off while running ) so mostly just one servo !

No i never ran the internal on everything, i don't want to overheat the esc, figure out it gets too hot to run all of it, then have the heat damaged RX8. It's nice not to have to check your esc, motor, servo's every few minutes or worry about it when you can do it right from the start. An ESC's primary job is to run the motor, and do it well, the internal BEC's are a gravy item (imo) to the whole thing, as far as i am concerned the most work it should see for a reliable rig is to run the RX, and LED's (max draw 1amp/ constant). BEC's are your friend use them! Hope this helps. | |

| Re: Rx8gen2 need a cc bec ???? Yeah mine is the gen 2. I had a cc bec on my gen 1 and it caused glitching, so I don't run one on the gen 2 either. Everything was wired correctly. And there are no heat issues at all. The fan occasionally turns on after hard driving on 3s, but it isn't hot hot, just warm.
