Default Sidewinder 3 solidering question

Does anyone here know if it's a problem to solider you motor wires straight to the esc like other esc's do? Or do you have to get the plugs to plug into them?

I would just buy 4mm plugs. They're cheap and makes it a lot easier if you need to unplug something later on.
