| 13.5T too much for AE2?
So I got a clean AE2 I have run several packs through on 3S with a cheapie 35t motor and today I installed a used HH 13.5t motor that ran great for like 45 seconds on 3s and now it doesn't want to spin the wheels. I can see the light flash red or green, but no juice. Of I spin the tires slowly a little it might go for a few seconds and then stop again. Did I burn up the esc? Is a 13.5t too much for a stock AE2 and I just need to install one of my brxl? Or is the motor worn and needs new brushes or comm turned? Thanks |

Check your brushes out and if you have another motor plug it in and check that way.

If the limit is 19t, will it really die that fast? Maybe so. I'll try another motor and report what happens |

A Holmes 13t Crawlmaster (not a 13.5, that refers to a brushless motor) is a 5 slot armature which is equivalent to a 27t 3 slot armature in resistance. A 13t Holmes motor will not cause the ESC to burn up, it is easier on the ESC than the stock 20t Axial motor is. I have ran hours and hours worth of batteries through an AE2 with a 13t Crawlmaster on 3s. Something else is causing your issue. |

It's the motor. I swapped in. New brxl and it does the same thing: move the motor a little and it goes for a minute then stops. Looking at the brushes they are pretty short, and there is a pretty deep groove on the motor where the brushes rest. Guess the motor is off to holmes for a rebuild.sure wish the guy selling it had told me it was toast, I would have had him send straight to holmes to save one time on shipping.... Oh well. |
