need a new servo!?

so with 2 1/4oz of weight in each front wheel I and metal servo horn and links I have cooked my stock as-3 servo. what is a good replace servo using either a 24-25t horn as I have nice ones for either? trying not to break the bank but want something that will last with current configuration. some guys run the inexpensive solars....how are they longevity wise and do they plug right into stock receiver? thanks

2 Attachment(s)
I've been running a Savox 1230 with good results on my Ridgecrest. That's with the suicide steering setup, which is brutal on servo's.

I run the Solar D772 400oz/in torque (Claimed) & the Solar D771 250oz/in torque
thereabouts anyways...

The D772 is my go-to servo. $17.50 plus shipping and I havent burnt one out yet! I have run them at 6v, 7.2v, 7.4v, and 8v! Heard of guys running them off 9v with no issues.

I have beat the crap out of the 6 or so I have in different rigs / servo winches. Throw a little dielectric grease or conformal coating on the board and maybe a little extra grease on the gears and RUN IT!

Just my .02

There are many threads dedicated to this exact subject.
This is just my personal advice.
I will continue to buy these servos until I find a reason not to, I haven't yet "thumbsup""thumbsup"

You can get the solar servos from hobbypartz.com they are $19.95

And it just so happens I ordered another one today.....never had a problem with the one I have, just needed another one for a different truck...

Re: need a new servo!?

The solar's aren't bad but buy a couple at a time, that way when it does fail you'll have a spare. Not saying its a bad servo, just that it won't last forever. Do run it at a higher voltage.

Re: need a new servo!?

anyone know what size/style servo gear is on these solars?"thumbsup"

Re: need a new servo!?

So I guess they went up in price by a few bucks or I'm just forgetful. Probably forgetful haha Price IS 19.95 + 6.95 shipping flat rate

They have a 23 Tooth Spline Come with a couple different style servo arms. Plastic though.

ALL metal gears, never had any issues.

It uses JR style connector (I believe) It will Definitely work with Axial RX or flysky, hobbyking, etc..

Solar Servo D772 High Voltage 0.17sec@7.4v 64g Digital Metal Gear

Like was said, I buy a few at a time, just to save on shipping. I have not burned one out.

**Plug for my Youtube**
Check this out to see what a solar servo used as a winch can do. "thumbsup""thumbsup"

I am a little late to the party...........but I ordered a servo from them last week on Wednesday.........waiting for a shipping/tracking confirmation, checked Thursday-----nothing, checked Friday----nothing. Saturday showed up at my door lol. They must have forgot to supply the tracking info. But showed up from California to Pennsylvania in three days..not bad at all.

Cheers,
Wade

Re: need a new servo!?

I perfer a hitec over a savox. The savox are noisy and give me a headache listening to SCREECH SCREECH when I'm crawling.
