Pro4/MMP sputter in reverse only? Pro4 4000, MMP. System has ran great for over a year of extreme use. The motor/esc is sputtering in reverse. Not quite like in non-sensor mode but similar (I'm not hearing the chime that non-sensor makes). Everything works fine forward. I swapped out the sensor wire with the same results. Any ideas? Someone thought maybe it was a bad magnet/spot in the motor... |
Re: Pro4/MMP sputter in reverse only? anyone? |
Re: Pro4/MMP sputter in reverse only? i would first swap rx's and see if its the rx. then i would check all connections, reverse the rotation of the motor in the esc and see if it still glitches when the wheels go backwards… if it then sputters while the tires are rotating fwd it most likely isnt the motor. basically try alot of different variables and see if the problem remains constant. might be easy to first plug your motor from melons into hera, and see if it still sputters. then you would at least have a better idea if its the motor or something upstream. so yeah, first couple things i would do would be swap motors and swap rx's. |
Could you possibly have abs on your radio and it got turned on by accident? It would pulse one direction of throttle depending on rotation and what not? Don't know what your using for radio, but worth the mention. |

Imo if it was a bad spot in the motor, you would get the same in forward as well. |
Re: Pro4/MMP sputter in reverse only? you guys are on the right track. I swapped in my old Futaba tr/rx and it worked fine. The new/current radio is a hacked Flysky GT3b My friend was driving Hera when it started. I think he was messing with the 4ws and must have hit the wrong button... problem is, I have no idea how he did it! |
