Default positive negative hook up on moter

So i mounted my motor and the rsc (holmes hobby) and i realized that i have them backwards and i already cut the wires to size on the rsc i thought white was negative and black was positive for some stupid reason so my question is what happens if i hook up the motor backwards from the rsc ? is there a way i can change it on the controller like reverse it ? cause my understanding is if its wired backwards then forward would be reverse and reverse would be forward correct me if im wrong

If it's brushed, it won't hurt anything, it'll just run in reverse. If it does, you'll need to solder them on the other way.

It'd be prudent to put the timing at 0 if possible if you have to run it reverse, running with the timing retarded too far can damage it eventually and it'll feel slow. I accidentally did it to a motor a few years ago.

Also----Make sure the lights on the esc are ramping up the proper direction also. Meaning when you pull forward throttle you should see a green light...reverse, you should see a red light.

Reversing the radio will make the ESC run reverse, which you don't want to do. You want FWD on the radio to be FWD on the ESC, always.
