What ESC?
What motor?
2.4 radio? FM?
Batteries?
Servo?
Still have steering when the truck won't move? If it's brushed, sounds like you need some motor work as it likely is worn out. This can cause weird motor behavior and it will stop when going really slow at times.

When it takes off fast is it because to have it held full throttle?

atomik 320A esc,
Savox SW-0231MG servo
axial 27 turn motor on rc4wd r2 trans
onyx 5000mah 2c lipo
27MHZ AM traxxas radio
i believe it does have steering when it cuts out and
yeah and it does take off fast because when it stops i keep having to pull the throttle till it works.

Do you have a BEC? I take it it cuts out when crawling slow, but does it do it while turning? Does that ESC have any throttle indicator lights? If so, try to watch em when it cuts out and if it's seeing a throttle signal, I'm going to say it might be the motor.

How old is the Axial motor?

i do not have a BEC, what does that do? ive heard alot about it but not quite sure what it does. my esc does have a cut off when the batt gets below a certain voltage tho. yeah pretty much when i go slow it cuts off .im not sure about the turning part tho. and yeah lights up when its going il try n check for that. honestly couldnt tell you how old because it came with another rc as a spare but yeah probably a few years lol

I'm betting your motor may just need replacing man.

The BEC is what supplies voltage to your receiver and servo. The ESC has one built in, but usually they are only 2-5amp and a servo can ask for 6+, which is where the external BEC comes in. You disable the ESC BEC and use the external to supply power to the servo so it doesn't brown out the system and cause shut downs. On 2S it's not as obvious, but it happens and will get worse over time. 3S it's very obvious, as amperage drops when voltage increases so your servo is starved even more. I'd for sure look into getting one if you're having issues with the system shutting down on 2S. I run my 1.9 JK with no BEC right now, but will likely add one soon.

One test you can try is to unplug your steering servo and try and go slow. It will rule out the possibility that the servo is browning out the receiver. Regardless a BEC is still a good idea like Ty said. Good luck

I have this same issue. Crawling real slow the motor will stop and it takes a couple pulls of the trigger for the car to respond again.

Axial 55t motor
Sidewinder esc
Castle BEC
Axial ar-2 receiver
Hitec 7955tg

Sometimes the steering was no response either. But not nearly as much as the throttle.

My buddy used adapters to go from Tamiya style to deans to traxxas on his ax10 scorpion and he had a similar issue. Random cut outs. He then got rid of all adapters and hasn't had an issue since. I'm hoping it's just because it's an old motor. That's easier to change than trying to find a weak connection somewhere.

Yea, wouldnt want to fix the 30 adapters. Lol. I mean what really would be the point of going from tamyia to deans to copper to abs to PVC to the flux capacitor to traxxas?
