| Spektrum DXxx Power Indicator (I Hate Orange LEDs!)
Hey guys, I'm looking to see if anyone's got experience replacing the dirty orange power indicator light in their Spektrum radio with something more attractive. I've got a DX4S and I love the radio overall, but the orange LEDs used in the power switch and the antenna are nasty looking. I know this is more fashion than function. It needs to be dealt with, though. The LEDs are small and rectangular. I haven't been able to measure them properly, but they appear to be about 2mm x 4mm. Any thoughts? Anyone dealt with these nasty looking things before? I've seen loads of threads about backlight mods on Spektrum radios. Haven't seen one for this. Thanks! |

Just remember that different colored led need different driving current/voltage. So you can't just switch an orange for a blue.

Very true. Good thing I've got loads of resistors. Guess the question is if the voltage needs to step up or down. Orange LEDs tend to use less than blue or white, but a tiny bit more than red or green.
