Default I need to get the CC BEC install Clear in my head

I have the CC BEC and MMP with a Futaba 2030GF receiver.

Do I have this correct in thinking

1. The MMP has a yellow, red, and brown colored wires from the ESC. I remove the RED wire from the ESC connector and install into #2 of the rx.

2. With the CC BEC being powered from the battery, plug this into the BATTERY port of the rx.

3. Hitec servo then plugs into #2 of the rx.

What I am not sure of is: On the 2030GF rx, what is signal, + and - ?
I'm afraid of plugging the CC BEC in backwards and Browning out the MMP.

The red wire is in the middle. So if you plug anything in backwards you will only mix ground and signal.

By pulling the red wire from the esc you are just eliminating a second power source.

Adding a BEC is a simple thing, just make sure to pull the red wire from the esc to the RX and you really should not be able to damage anything if you make a mistake.

On the receiver a good rule of thumb is "1 to turn, 2 to burn"

slot 1 = steering
slot 2 = throttle

Thanks - I did somehow think I fried my SCT3 trying to hook the BEC up a while ago. So I'm gun shy but I think I have it now.
I used a an extension on the MMP wire that had the middle wire cut. Which SHOULD have done the same thing as removing the red from the MMP. Not sure what went wrong.

Do I need to cut any of the 3 wires coming from the CC BEC in the ESC?

Here's how I'll set it up..look good?

Isn't it 1 to TURN 2 to BURN?

It's always been 1 to turn and 2 to burn.

Channel 1 is steering
Channel 2 Esc

The easy way for me to remember is counting down, the steering is physically higher than the trigger. So 1 for steering, 2 for throttle. Left to right, top to bottom like reading.

Usually on the rx, ground will be facing out.

I think I'm solid on knowing what to do n how. Only down side is I can't program my cc bec to 6v for the 7955 because I don't have the cord

Dont cut anything!

slide the red wire out of the plug for the ESC into the receiver....you do not need this power source. You are going to power the Receiver (and subsequently the servo) using the BEC plugged into the Battery port on the receiver. You do not want to have 2 or more power sources going into the receiver - the red wire on the ESC harness is a power source that comes from the ESC to the receiver to power all the items plugged into the receiver. - if you take that wire out, you have to replace it with something....in this case, you're using the BEC to provide power to the receiver.

Tape the red wire that you took out of the harness with electrical tape to keep it from grounding on anything....its still a source of voltage.

You will need all 3 wires on the BEC for programming. If you cut the orange wire, you will not be able to program the BEC. leave it as is and be happy

Why a BEC, because it is built to provide up to 10 amps for accessories on your rig...servo included. the stock ESC "internal BEC" is only 3-5 amps depending on the manufacturer and they are not programmable....typically set at 5v.

So, you're bypassing the weak "Internal BEC" and using an "External BEC" which is more stable, stronger and versatile!

Got it all hooked and rockin. Definitely quicker steering than before. Be nice to get it bumped to 6v though.

I did not cut anything. I uses am extension from the ESC to the rx and removed the center wire from it. It all works good now! Thanks everyone. It really was easy
