Default How Waterproof Do I Make It?

I haven't been able to find a specific answer to a waterproofing question. Here's the background - I've read a lot of posts and watched a lot of videos about waterproofing my ESC (Tekin FXR). Everything I've reviewed says that the brass posts on the ESC need to remain free of waterproofing, as they act as heat sinks. Something else I've read frequently is that the battery connections need to be waterproofed. Isn't this contradictory? The posts on the ESC are directly connected to the battery and vulnerable to shorting, as well.

I really wish I could find Tupperware to fit my chassis. Ugh.

Corrosion X the esc/receiver. Plasti-dip the bec and seal up the servo with plasti-dip and a greased o-ring on the servo and your done.

Found a project box to stuff the ESC/BEC/RX in. Guess I only need worry about heat now!

So, what you're saying is the battery connections can get wet without causing any issues? (I'm running 3s lipo)

Conformal coating on all the boards. Battery connections and motor wiring don't need to be water proofed. My stuff gets dunked regularly with zero issues.

Same with mine. I run my receiver and BEC in a traxxas box, and the rest can take a bath. Helps keep the mud off

Done. Boxed up everything but the battery and I sealed the open ends of that. Never planning to take it swimming, but I wouldn't mind a little more mud friendliness. (new tires are on the way!)
