About the Axial Ae-2 Lipo Cutoff settings.

My neighbor has a wraith with the stock electronics in it, other than a 55turn motor. He had horrible run times on a 2s battery, so I hooked it up to the castle link to fiddle around and when I try to set the lipo cutoff to something like 3.4 or 3.5, like I have set on my fxr which is even a bit safer than absolutely necessary. But when I try to set the AE-2 below 4.0, it does not save it. After I update it and disconnect the esc, I open it in castle link again and it reverts to 4.0 volts for the lipo cutoff. Is this how the AE-2 works, or does he maybe need a firmware update?

Update the firmware and set it at a reasonable level. I set all mine to 3.1 volts for longer run times.

Thanks. I will see if a firmware update will help. Because he was getting like 20mins or so off a 4000mah battery pack with a 55turn motor in it. I still keep telling him he needs an external bec, though. Lol.

If he's going to stay 2s I'd just wire the servo directly to the battery. If he may upgrade to 3s later may as well get a CC bec now and be done with it. My AE2 hasn't seen 2s in the 2 years I've had it, 3s only. It's a solid esc. :D

After I got into flying 3d foamies that voltage sag the little packs pretty bad I started running a 3.0v cutoff on all my junk. I have some packs that are 5+ years old that still work fine. Imo you guys that run really conservative cutoffs are just wasting run time.
