| RC4WD Light bar won't work on SCX10
I recently purchased a light bar for my SCX10 kit I just finished but it seems like it does not like this car for some reason. When I plug it in directly the lights flicker and look real dim but I unplugged it fearing i might ruin the light bar but when I use my extension wire with it the lights remain on constantly but are very dim. The odd thing is that I can plug it right into my stock Stampede 4x4 vxl and the bar is blindingly bright. I'm hoping someone here could help me figure this out. SCX10 electronics; Spektrum DX3C Transmitter and receiver it came with Castle SV3 ESC Onyx 2s 8000Mah Lipo Side note: I used the same battery with my traxxas when it worked. |

Try another Rx. Sounds like your scx10 has a bad channel OR, is there a BEC on your Stampede?

I don't have a BEC but I heard that the SV3 has one built in. I don't see any options regarding that in the programming though. I think my Power plug didn't have a strong connection so I'm thinking that might be a possibility.

Castle has a low voltage internal BEC usually 4.8 volts. Your light bar is most likely setup for 6 volts. That would account for the dimness, and flickering. Find out what voltage your light bar is rated for. Using an external BEC to regulate the voltage is one option.

On the product page online its says "Works with up to 3 Cell lipo with use of a BEC to regulate voltage below 7.4 volts" So I'm guessing 4.8 is too low. would the Castle Creations BEC for $20 be any good? |

absolutely! most everyone runs that bec. You'll need the castle link usb also. To change the voltage |

Already have the link. I'll have to wait until this friday to order the BEC though. Thanks alot for the help you guys. I'll let you know if the BEC solves the issue.

If you have a voltmeter you can check to see what your SV3 output is vs the stampede. Im guessing the stampede is 6v. You can hook the lights up to another power source in the meantime. Link the lightbar you have, if you don't mind. |

If you only run 2s could wire it off your battery direct. I can't remember if the sv3 BEC is adjustable with the link or not, but that might be worth checking also.

I got the BEC installed and set it to 6V since it only seems to allow one setting and now the lights work great. Also helped my servos out a bit. Thanks for the help!
