Holmes BR mini dual calibration trouble

I am having a hard time calibrating my Holmes BR mini dual esc. I have plugged both esc—plugs into the receiver. Power wires are not connected to the battery. Bec is powering the receiver. As soon as I connect the battery, one of the motors starts spinning. Nothing else happens. No sounds or lights from the escs. No sign the esc is trying to calibrate.

Is the unit broke or am I missing something? Anyone from Holmes that can explain this to me? Is there a way to reset the unit to start all over again?

Sent from my SM-N9005 using Forum Fiend v1.2.7.

Do a search for my thread on this. I had trouble too.

But you are supposed to hold full throttle on your trigger before u plug up power to enter calibration mode. Search my previous thread. Radio needs to be set up for both channels correctly etc.

Thanks, Master Basher. I've seen your thread on the subject. Since I posted this thread, I've realized that I didn't do the wiring correctly, and that's probably the reason to why I couldn't get it to work.

Now I've had to order to separate BR Minis. My radio (a Futuba 4PLS with a r340-receiver) has been paired. Can I calibrate both the BR Minis at the same time (using channel 2 and 4), or should I do them separately?

I really don't want to mess things up one more time ..... :(

Now that ive done it, I would suggest getting your radio channels set up correctly first, then calibrating simultaneously. Before I was able to do it that way, I was wishing they were not smashed so I could do them individually.

I have already activated the dual esc-function on the radio, so I guess both channel 2 and 4 now should be ready for action. Is there anything else that needs to be done before I start the calibration process?

Re: Holmes BR mini dual calibration trouble

Just make sure trims are zero and travel on both channels is 150% or as high as it will go and equal on both channels and nothing bad should happen if you are wired right. Only one esc should provide power to the rx but it doesnt seem to matter with the br or castle micro escs.

What do you mean by "travel on both channels is 150%"?

The throttle and aux channel u r using for propulsion. My radio has adjustments for such. It makes a final speed difference.

Leave ur epa's at 100% for calibration. If you want to turn them up afterwards, then you can.

I calibrate mine at the same time. Some ppl like to do them separate and others like to calibrate them one at a time and both off of there throttle ch..
I don't know that a difference is made.

Did you ever get this sorted out? I think I am having the same issue with my setup

IF you don't have one buy a Castle BEC programer fire it off and reset all the to the factory defaults. Then start over program each ESC 1 at a time it does not all-ways work tiring to do them both at the same time
