Its a cool tool, but more of a racing thing as the sensors being off a little in a crawler/scaler motor isn't anything you are going to notice like you would with a race car. Its pretty pricey too at $400. People want them though, last I saw there is like 1 left from the second order, first order sold out instantly.

ill wait for the hobbyking version, but I wouldn't mind having the kv tester. for real world comparisons. especially for our airplane motors.

Not sure how you'd test an outrunner on it though...

Neat tool, but my dual trace scope and meters are a lot more accurate for less money. Great for racing blinky mode and rooting through ten sensor boards and stators to find the best combo I'm sure.

Measuring amp draw seems easy enough but how do you use your scope and meter to measure sensor advance?

One phase signal and one sensor signal, compare each set. Either reference a floating tap or another phase leg. Zero cross of the phase coincides trigger or un trigger of the sensor, wye terminations will offset zero cross by thirty electrical degrees.

The goal is a trigger offset nearest to 120 electrical degrees and balanced bEMF among phases. Racing is a game of slim gains sometimes.
