| Tekin brushless?
Hey guys, I've been looking at a tekin rok 412 brushless for my night crawler, was just wondering if anyone is running that motor and what Esc and bec they would recommend with it? I always hear good things about tekin, I've also been looking at the tekin rsx esc which says it has a built in bec, just looking for some opinions and to hear some feedback from anyone using a set up like this with 3 cell lipo or what brushless combo you guys think is the best? One more thing, I'm going to convert to 4 wheel steering wich means 2 servos, how big can I go on the servos running 2 of them without frying somethin? Thanks

Castle 10 amp bec and rs gen2 rx8 is popular only on 2s can you use one servo. if you run 2 servos or use 3s then always use a bec |

Thanks, would it be smart to jump to the castle pro 20 amp bec to run 2 high torque servos? Or would that be overkill? And have you heard anything good/ bad about the tekin roc 412 motor?

the roc412 motors are great. Tekin makes some high quality stuff (at high quality prices). I have only heard praise about the 412's. I have read they are very similar to the Pro4 motors, just different Kv ranges and 1/8" shaft instead of 5mm.

Thanks a lot for the info! And ya I always hear good about them but just wanted to ask for some other opinions because although I'm not new to the rc world I haven't been messing with these crawlers very long. And last time I was messing a with rc's in general a lot of this stuff didn't even exist yet haha Any recommendations on what kv to run a long with proper gearing, servos, etc? Like I stated above I'm thinking about going to the 20 amp bec instead of the 10amp cause I'm going to run dual servos for rear steering, but don't know if that would be overkill or how powerful of servos I should use. Or if a bigger bec would mean running a certain esc and lipo setup? I apologize if I'm asking dumb questions. Appreciate the help though

10a bec is enough, 20a is overkill as you stated. But would recomend you to use a brushed system and not brushless as you suggested. its better for the nightcrawler. 35t motor if you want good mix of speed and toque. 45-55t if you perfer torque. |
