| CC Sidewinder with 3800kv power question.
Yes I searched. . I have a CC Sidewinder SCT combo.. How does it compare in overall power vs brushed motors. Is it as strong as a Traxxas 775 ? Just wondering if geared right will be ok for a Traxxas Summit sized crawler ? And what gearing would be a good over all ratio starting point ? What info would I need to give you guys that would help ? |

Had one in my E-Maxx just to test it, and it didn't have enough torque. Being sensorless it also was not smooth at all. Dual motors will have the torque, but no smoothness still. I ran this in my Emaxx. Motor - Radio Control Planes, Helicopters, Cars, Boats, FPV and Quadcopters - Hobbyking* ESC - HobbyWing 1/8 Scale C-Xerun 150A Brushless ESC Was super smooth and had gobs of torque. 6s Capable for speed. | |

Its just not enough motor for a rig that big. You want to run 1 motor, then you need to step up to a 1/8th scale size motor as mentioned above. I ran a 1900KV 1/8th scale motor with a Hobbywing 150a ESC in my E-maxx, that thing ran great!

Ok let me clarify what im ending up with but need help on the power supply. 1/8 scale old nitro buggy. Revo 3.3 steel roll cage. Revo/Summit tires - wheels. Guess im going single speed. No trans. But will end up with a gear ratio of around 80:1 or as low as 100:1 I have a 775 brushed motor im thinking would work with gearing that low.. Later if I see the need I may go Dewalt. This wont be for speed faster than a fast walk. I knew a guy who has a crawler that uses a 550 brushed motor in about an 8 pound rig... but he also has 125:1 gearing.. it will pull a cement block ! But just toss power option out here. And guess I will save the CC brushless combo for later. |

The big 775 or dewalt motors will work good. You need the torque, even with an appropriate gear ratio. I'm a big fan of the turnigy brushless motors and hobbywing ESC's for my 1/8 scale stuff. |
