| Sudden problem with wraith bind
RTR Wraith AE2 AR3 AX3 I tried to power the wraith up tonight and for some reason it seems like it lost bind. Been a few weeks since I last ran it, everything was fine. Now I'm having trouble getting it back in order. I have run through the bind plug procedure a whole bunch of times and I get nothing. Plug in bind plug to ch3 Connect battery and I get flashing red from AR3, and I get rapid flashing red/green and beeps from AE2 Hold bind button, power on TX I get solid red from AR3, pull bind plug. Flashing green on transmitter, same rapid lights and beeps from AE2. Power it all down and then back up again, Nothing. I followed a video online from axial just to make sure I was doing it right. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. |

Anybody have any suggestions? I'm going to have to just order a new ESC it looks like. I get the solid red light from the RX after binding...but the ESC just keeps flashing and beeping. No response from throttle or steering. Leads me to believe the ESC is the problem. On a side note...last time the truck was running it got pretty wet.... It ended up flipping on its top in a fairly deep puddle. Deep enough that the ESC may have gotten a good bath. |

Well the esc is probably bad..if you didn't waterproof it and it went into a puddle then it's the only thing to cause those issues. If the receiver is fine then..replace the esc and go from there.

I doubt its a water issue in your esc. if its the stock esc is water proof. Also check the casing of your receiver I had some moisture in mine and it wouldn't work for a while till it dried out. No motor or servo. just flashing lights on my tekin rs. I have had this problem before where channel 2 was toast. Went through all the same trouble shooting as well. im currently having the same problem after toasting my 17.5 redline. Try another receiver if you have one. or another tx/rx combo and see if it works...willing to bet money it works. this is the 3rd axial receiver ive had this issue with.

If you get a new tx/RX then I'd say go with a Fly-Sky gt3b..there great and if you contact Losikid he can hack it for you. Or if you're not on a budget then you can try looking at a Futaba 4pls..good system (I'd stay clear from spektrum).

Had the same problem with a Ridgecrest. It was the receiver.

| Re: Sudden problem with wraith bind Well I have a cheapo spektrum system and it's okay I guess but I'm a Futaba guy so I'd never spend my money on spektrum..if you read reviews about some spektrum system..yes they do glitch and lose connection..nah, Futaba is the way to go..at least for me |

water resistant maybe... but even tall wet grass or a simple puddle splash could make for a bad day. ---------------- edit for the OP even if the ESC got wet... it does not mean it is fried. If it smells burnt... then it likely is. but if it doesn't smell... simply remove the components from their case... then using lite air pressure, blow the moisture out. Afterwards... bury the component in some raw (dry) rice for maybe a day or two. The rice will wick out any remaining moisture. And hopefully be back up and running. The rice works well for drying any wet electronic gizmo Last edited by TacoCrawler; 08-01-2014 at 07:39 PM.

Ok so I had a few free minutes to play with it again. I tried disconnecting the BEC and got the same results. Flashing lights, beeping, and no response. Heres a quick video to show exactly what Im talking about... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzYSAAvsaDQ |

Are all the AE2's the same? If I got one from a scx10 it would work the same way correct?

I wouldn't spend any more money on the same ESC, or rcvr that came with the RTR...you're just chasing your tail. Bite the bullet and spend some $ on a decent electronics set up. Even after you waterproof this new stuff, try not to submarine your electronics...at least don't hit the throttle while you're submerged..... I've lost a Hitec 7955 and a Futaba rcvr in the river of shame...because I tried to drive it out....I thought I was waterproof...about a $200 mistake. The dry rice works wonders if you do get your stuff wet. Taco Crawler is spot on there Good luck KBR |

Sounds stupid but did the throttle on the radio get bumped? My 3pk will creap after time and throw calibration off.

I already have a stock replacement on the way. I really can't bite the bullet at this moment. Besides I would like to go brushless eventually and rather spend good money on that down the road. For $40 this will hopefully get me running again while I save up for 1.9 conversion and brushless. Fingers crossed that it works! |
