Smile Antenna question

Is an antenna needed on a Clod with a TQ3 radio and receiver? If it is, what do you wire the antenna to?

The antenna has to be there because the Rx has to pick up what the Tx is sending. The antenna also has to be a specific length because of the frequency of the emmitted RF. Bottom line, if you want to control your truck, keep the antenna. Some make an antenna loom or something like thishttp://www.craftlab.net/epage/etech1receiver.htm
if you look hard enough, you can also find antenna mounts that an antenna tube could mount in and just run it out the top like a regular r/c

Is there any place where I could buy an antenna for my Clod project?

I don't have the receiver yet (TQ3 on its way here). Do receivers come with an antenna already attached?

For crazyfocrawlers;
To use this antenna, you hav to cut your old antenna wire down to a couple of inches or so and then solder the pin connector from the new antenna to what you have left. then the deands just plugs in. I have never installed the deans for a boat or car but I just installed one on my heli and it is very nice.

But you're the only one who has nothing useful to add.

crazyforcrawlers, your receiver will have an antenna wire on it, you can also just use an antenna tube and mount like this and it will work fine.
