I don't get any lights on the link module. Should it light up?

The Castle Link board should have a Red Led that is on solid if it is connected to the computer via the USB cable. If it isn't on, then either the Castle Link or the cable is probably bad.

Well I've tried 3 different USB cables. Must be the module.

Seems to me since the last update the esc switch has to be off for my bec's to link up. I'm now using a small connector to remove the BEC from the esc power wires and it does fine. For some reason I'm thinking it would link up being soldered to the esc power wires even with the on/off switch removed before the last update.

Probably is the module. I would check the USB port on the computer with a memory stick or any other USB device you have. Not very likely the port is the issue but that way you have all the bases covered when you call Castle.

Wish my issue wasnt so complicated.

Ive now tried....
BEC in/out of truck
With/without battery
2 different usb cords
2 laptops (both running WIN7)
Every usb port on both machines
An existing, but updated install of software, a fresh install of software.

BEC lights up green, with it in truck without battery i do get power flow to esc. I get red light only on the adapter module, and only the usb connection box is green in the software.

Again my SV3 connects perfectly through all of this

Hopefully gonna try my WIN Vista desktop and maybe even my wife's old WIN XP tower while im off sun & mon

Exocaged...
The esc switch being off would make sense but mine doesnt connect with esc separated. Castle's point of connecting a battery while programming was due to usb power not strong enough for the adapter, the BEC, and esc all at once. So we didnt have to disconnect BEC completely every time

to read my bec's i have to unplug them from the esc. from my limited experiences if my bec is wired up to a servo or the esc it wont read on castle link, but if i unplug everything to where its bascially as you get it new, the bec will read.

My guess is the magic smoke came out of the Castle Link interface part of the BEC but stayed in the part that regulates the voltage.

Hmmm. I could see that considering my line of work.

Well my contact there said even though it was WAY out of warranty, this was one of the very few reasons they would warranty it beyond the 1yr mark

So.....+1 for castle's customer support

Just an update. Talked to Castle Link and they determined the Link is bad. They are sending me a new link and cable. Hope this helps.
